Position Title: IT Network Lead

Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut (Hybrid)

Overview:

Charter is currently seeking an experienced IT Network Lead to join our team starting March 2024. Working with Network Manager, the ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience direct leading a team of Network engineers to execute complex network projects. Previous experience (6yrs) as a Network Admin/Engineer installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure (i.e., Cisco, Palo Alto) is required. Experience configuring network protocols, managing network security, and collaborating with 3rd party vendors would be a great asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut (Hybrid). The role requires working onsite in Iqaluit, Nunavut (min. for a month) followed by regular scheduled onsite trips. Resource must be located in Canada for the duration of the project when not in Nunavut. Flights and accommodations will be provided. Term: 1 year. Strong possibility of extension.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of network engineer to execute complex network projects.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Network Admin/Engineer installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure (i.e., Cisco, Palo Alto).
  • Experience managing wireless networks (i.e., Cisco Meraki, HP Aruba)
  • Experience supporting Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.), and redundancy protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
  • Experience managing network security, including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues and resolve connectivity problems.
  • Experience documenting network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Experience SD-WAN, SDx/SDA is an asset.
  • Experience transitioning remote access (i.e., Cisco AnyConnect to Global Protect) is an asset.
  • Education: Active industry certifications (i.e., CCNP) would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
