Position Title: IT Business Analyst

Overview:
Charter is currently seeking one (1) experienced IT Business Analyst with strong leadership skills to support planning and implementation processes for projects starting mid-November 2024. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the ideal resource will have 10+ years of BA experience gathering/analyzing business requirements and capturing the ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states (i.e., document business processes, workflows, rules). Previous experience facilitating/leading meetings and workshops to technical and nontechnical audiences is required. Experience creating testing plans/approaches and executing testing (i.e., Functional, Regression and User Acceptance) is required. Additionally, experience building out Power BI reports, proving/testing ‘out of the box’ of the reports, and building skill sets within the company to support BI reports post go-live is required. Experience supporting ERP system implementation projects within Higher Education would be a strong asset. Location: Remote* Term: 7 months.

Qualifications and Experience:
- 10+ years of BA experience gathering/analyzing/managing the business requirements and capturing the ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states (i.e., document business processes, workflows, rules).
- Previous experience in technical leadership is required.
- Experience eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the business requirements and ensuring requirements traceability across the project life cycle.
- Experience leading meetings, i.e., Project team meetings, schedule meetings, project work committee meetings, vendor workshops, steering committee meetings.
- Experience creating Test Plans/approaches, including testing approach, schedule, test cases/scenarios, resourcing requirements (roles and responsibilities), test acceptance criteria, and defect management.
- Experience testing, i.e., Functional, Regression and User Acceptance.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to various levels within an organization.
- Experience building out Power BI reports based on ad-hoc requirements put forward by stakeholders.
- Experience proving out and testing out of the box Power BI reports and enhance as required.
- Experience building skill sets within the company to support and maintain BI reports post go-live.
- Experience analyzing to define how the stakeholders use various types of fields in modules and populate look-up tables.
- Experience overseeing high-level data load strategy including volume of history to extract through legacy system and have data file created.
- Experience supporting the collection of current state business processes with implementing company in determining new business process flows.
- Experience defining technical requirements for modifications and workarounds to vendor where the existing software lacks critical functionality.
- Experience clarification of testing vs production environment protocols for each implementation.
- Experience creation of common user documentations including potential training documentation.
- Education: Active industry certifications: i.e., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification would be considered as asset.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English is required.
- Candidates must reside in Canada for the duration of the project.
